Driving directions to the convention
The community of Chugiak, Alaska, is
located off the Glenn Highway about 20 miles north of Anchorage.
Directions are given for drivers coming from the north or the south on the
Glenn Highway:
Coming north (from Anchorage):
- Drive north on the Glenn Highway and take the South
Birchwood Exit
- Turn right onto South Birchwood Loop Road (east toward
the Chugach Mountains)
- Drive to the Old Glenn Highway. Turn left on the Old Glenn Highway and
drive north 0.4 miles to the United Methodist Church of Chugiak on the
left, across from Laughlin Street.
- Turn left into the parking lot and stay left, following
the “More Parking” signs to the lower level on the west side of the
church. Enter the building from the
lower parking lot entrance, the APHEA Convention Entrance by the vendor
hall.
Coming south (from Mat-Su Valley):
- Drive south on the Glenn Highway and take the South
Birchwood Exit
- Turn left onto South Birchwood Loop Road (east toward
the Chugach Mountains)
- Drive to the Old Glenn Highway. Turn left on the Old Glenn Highway and
drive north 0.4 miles to the United Methodist Church of Chugiak on the
left, across from Laughlin Street.
- Turn left into the parking lot and stay left, following
the “More Parking” signs to the lower level on the west side of the
church. Enter the building from the
lower parking lot entrance, the APHEA Convention Entrance by the vendor
hall.
